About this place
Diners have appreciated that Bonta bonta makes its onigiri to order. Choosing a filling to go with warm rice is part of the appeal; one customer singled out the light texture, generous filling and satisfying size. Another said the onigiri was still warm after being taken away. Whether you eat in or take your meal to go, the onigiri takes centre stage.
For a more substantial meal in the restaurant, consider one of the freshly made onigiri plates. Plate A pairs salmon and kombu onigiri with fried chicken, side dishes, salad, pickles and miso soup for ¥1,140—a classic combination that saves you choosing fillings. Plate B costs ¥1,170 and lets you choose two onigiri from salmon, mentaiko, tarako, okaka, kombu, takana, meat soboro and tuna mayonnaise; Plate C, at ¥1,240, lets you choose from the full range. Both plates also include fried chicken and miso soup, making them a handy choice when you want your preferred fillings alongside a few sides.
Some diners have found the fillings full-flavoured. To explore their different character, try a classic such as beni-shake salmon or Hidaka kombu, or opt for salmon with yuzu kosho mayonnaise. That filling combines flaked salmon with mayonnaise and a lively touch of yuzu kosho, for a change from the more familiar options. If you’d like a more substantial meal than onigiri alone, rice-flour fried chicken is also available as a set meal: the basic version costs ¥1,120, and the yurinchi version ¥1,190. One diner who ordered fried chicken with an onigiri set also noted that it arrived freshly fried.
